Voice Transformation Algorithm Evaluation

In this test you are asked to compare speech signals that have been transformed using 2 different algorithms. The transformations that are used are time stretching and transposition by means of factor 2 and 0.5. The test is aiming to evaluate the subjectively perceived quality of the transformed sound files after transformation.

To perform the test you should play each sound file at least once and judge the perceived artifacts. As artifacts we consider all sound disturbances that you would not expect to be present in a high quality speech recording. Sounds that are naturally linked to speech (like breath) but that sound strange or non natural are also considered as artifacts.

The sounds in the test comme in pairs that are edistinguished by the "a" and "b" extension of the sound id. You should evaluate the sounds individually but the comparison of the related sound of the pair may give you an idea about the quality.

You may listen to each sound as often as you like and then select one of the choices to judge.

After having juged all examples please fill the additional information and submit your test results. The test should not take more than 5-10 minutes.

Before your start: artifacts may be weak, please adjust your volume such that you hear the sounds clearly
