2. What does it run on ?

At the date of August 2001, it runs on Linux and SGI IRIX , using XWindow/Motif graphic facilities.

At IRCAM, using Unix machines, X Terminals, MacIntoshes and PC where an X server is installed (connected to Ethernet) and Audio Servers running on the machines, it is possible to have the following distributed facilities :

- run Xspect on any Unix processor,

- visualize and interact from any console, X terminal Mac or PC,

- study sound files lying on any disk of any Unix machine,

- listen to sounds (displayed in Xspect) on any sound output existing on Linux and SGI machines.
