The audio files accessible on the Mental Obsessions
web pages come in different formats:
The 8bit mono 8kHz Sun-AU files sound incredibly lo-fi but
are small and can be played almost everywhere. They are intended to
give you an overview of the complete song.
The 16bit mono 12kHz AIFF files might prove useful for
Mac users. (I couldn't test the audio files on a Mac.)
The 16bit stereo 44.1kHz AIFF files are the real thing.
They feature short snippets of music which can give you a taste of
what it really sounds like.
The 16bit MPEG-Audio compressed files might be the
solution to all storage and transfer problems as they promise 10:1
compression with only very little loss in sound quality. I'll have to
experiment a bit on this. Anyway, the sites listed below feature
MPEG players that come as ready-to-run executables for every system ... enjoy.
