Feel the Music: Narration in sound and music, by M. O'Modhrain

Abstract:

We describe the development of tools which allows us to track the relationship between multiple performance of a piece. Based on certain premises derived from Gestalt thinking, we develop a model for the relationship between music and haptics which allows us to explore the idea of a ``narrative''element for haptic display. We report on preliminary work and suggest future directions.
