Microsoft Entourage X

Entourage X is a kind of OutLook Express enhancement, which is part of the Office X suite.

It is an enhanced mail client, which contains also a calendar and a task reminder with alarm.

Entourage's sonification is almost the same as Outlook's. Only one difference : a reminder sound is added (it is an alarm for the task reminder).

* Sonification settings can be modified using the preference window.

* A sound set file is an archive that contains the 6 samples.

It is called a "Microsoft Entourage sounds" file, and is located in users/documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Sound sets.
Sound set files can be created and edited using "Expression" - see tools page.

* Entourage X is proposed with two sound sets : "Default" and "Microsoft sound set" (the last one already used in OutLook Express 5)

* As for OutLook Express, a lot of custom sound sets can be found over the internet - see the links page.

These sound sets are sometimes purely practical, and often derived from video games, movies, songs....
