Important sound aspects
These aspects were sufficient to create a "perceptive" category by themselves, thus overwriting the "functional" categorisation.
* the musical aspect
Related to samples that sound "musical" instead of sounding useful
* the 'hi medium only' aspect
Dry, almost agressive sounds, which sometimes are even perceived as unpleasant, only sound 'hi-medium' instead of fulfilling their function
* the highly realistic aspect
When samples sound very realistic, they are perceived as very different from any other "abstract" sample - this greatly messes up with any functional perspective.
* samples belonging to a certain culture
In the current case, a lot of samples were cartoon like - in fact derived from the Sound Ideas "Hanna Barbera" collection. This cartoon aspects seems to be perceived strongly enough to overwrite the sample functionality.
