We had a very interresting meeting with about 20 OSC developpers on thurday June 8th 2006 about the future of OSC standardization.
the meeting was lead by Matt Wright(CNMAT) with participation from David Wessel(CNMAT), Ali Momeni(CNMAT?), Emmanuel Flety(IRCAM), Seb Beaulieu (Plogue), me(IRCAM) the JazzMutant's team and many others whose names I don't remember.
Matt has put online an overview of the hot topics of the meeting here
the highlights are on the usage of ZeroConf/Bonjour/Rendez-Vous for service discovery and registration, OSC namespace discovery
Thursday, June 8, 2006, 13:46This morning we enjoyed the Special NIME 06 session for the violin family instrument. It was also broadcasted from the Stravinsky room to studio 5.
Shooting a little bit during the coffee break... Michael Lyons enjoying a quick talk with Layla Gayle. Maybe he asked something about the future of Arts and got a terrible answer
I was lucky to say Hello to Mari Kimura. I kindof studpidly asked (for kidding purpose) if she enjoys playing the violin. The following picture highlights that she is definitly likes it !!
Demos & Posters !
The Chopping Board - Axel Mulder and Nathanaël (Infusion Systems) presenting sensors and a wireless digitizer (MiniDig)
Color tracking turntable - Karl, a controller by Remy Duri
Vocal 2D physical modelling based on sound analysis - Smartphone navigation using the onboard digital camera
Visit of Jacques Remus Lab / The musical Washing Machine - UPF beautiful React Table
Tuesday, June 6, 2006, 11:40Second day of the conference, I already feel the effect of being the demo+poster chairman... Lack of sleep, I can safely convinced people that I'm funded by Samsonite, since I have beautiful suitcases under my eyelids
Anyway, so far so good, everyone got his poster space and magnets to hang it on the metallic walls in labo 5, and today we will enjoy 3 wonderfull interactive tables demonstrating in studio 5
