Kansei as the third target of information processing and related topics in Japan, by S. Hashimoto

Abstract:

Information technology can be classified into three categories; the physical signal processing, the semantic symbol processing and the KANSEI (emotional) information processing. The technology for art belongs to the last one. This short article describes some considerations on KANSEI as the third target for information processing and introduces the recent trend on KANSEI science and technology in Japan.
