IV. ESCHER:
INTRODUCTION:
In ESCHER, the notion of an instrument is represented by multiple spaces interconnected by transitions.
Spaces model the
continuous behavior of an entity in a temporal controlled succession. For
example:
- Attack, sustain, release of an acoustic musical instrument,
- words in a phrase,
- phonemes in a word.
- Navigation among
spaces is performed according to specific predetermined rules - road maps - established in
the initialization of the system.
