In early 1991 started the solo project Notstandskomitee of Malte Steiner, also member of the Hamburg Industrial band Das Kombinat. Steiner (whom the TAZ names "data dandy") restricts himself to using purely synthetic sounds, miles away from imitations of natural instruments or bubbling technoid analog clichés. His minimalistic songs are created on digital equipment only and witness the world of information superhighways and cyber people. At their performances, Notstandskomitee, being a pure studio project, refrain from hypocritical live fuss and alibi musicians. The music is played honestly from tape, the singing, however, is all the more real and live. The Musician vividly presents his world, supported by computer animations created exclusively for the show, amplifying the visual impression. At the Noise Transmission festival, Malte Steiner will present Notstandskomitee's new CD Strom, together with the new live show, for the first time. Previous years saw tapes, various contributions to compilations and the CD 731 and several live performances in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
| Anfang 1991 entstand das Soloprojekt Notstandskomitee von Malte Steiner, seines Zeichens Mitglied der Hamburger Industrialgruppe Das Kombinat. Steiner verwendet rein synthetische Klänge, fern von Naturinstrumenten oder deren Imitationen. Seine minimalistischen Lieder sind durchgehend auf digitaler Ausrüstung entstanden und zeugen von der Welt der Datenhighways und Cybermenschen. Da Notstandskomitee ein reines Studioprojekt ist, wird bei der Livepräsentation bewußt auf Alibimusiker und Livegeheuchle verzichtet. Die Musik kommt ehrlich vom Band, dafür ist der Gesang um so echter und live, der Musiker verkörpert sehr präsent seine musikalische Welt. Eigens entworfene Computeranimationen werden projiziert und unterstreichen so den visuellen Eindruck. Notstandskomitee wird auf diesem Festival seine neue CD Strom in Kombination mit der neuen Bühnenshow in einer Premiere vorstellen. Die Jahre davor veröffentlichte "Datendandy" (TAZ) Steiner diverse MCs, Samplerbeiträge, die CD 731 und wurde darüberhinaus durch zahlreiche Auftritte in Deutschland, Frankreich und Belgien bekannt.
