The experimental harsh-noise group Rabenhirn is the musical form of expression of the Frankfurt area END-ART initiative, who are involved in performances, theatre music, and installations for several years now. The 5 piece band's live shows are always artistic performances, combining multi-media elements like video installations with an expressive noise flooring. They use as instruments metal debris (which usually doesn't survive the concert), steel barrels, vacuum cleaners and the like, as well as classical elements like analog synthesizers, guitar and bass. Their musical experiments are asemantic, repetitive and improvised - Rabenhirn include in their performances noise collages as well as calm, ambient sound structures. A great deal of publicity did they attract by their Gegenlärm (antinoise) campaigns in shopping malls, parking lots and the Frankfurt airport, which they understand as a way to actively reflect their "acoustic environment". The interpretation is left open. Rabenhirn is known to the knowledgeable audience for co-performances with bands such as Test-Dept., Con-Dom, as well as for numerous Tape and CD releases.

Die experimentelle Harsh-Noise-Formation Rabenhirn ist die konzertante Darstellungsform der END-ART Initiative aus dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet, die seit einigen Jahren in den Bereichen Performance, Theatervertonung und Installation tätig sind. Die Livepräsentationen der mit 5 Personen auftretenden Gruppe sind stets Performances, in denen sie multimediale Elemente wie Videoinstallationen mit ihren expressiven Noiseteppichen kombinieren. Ihre "Instrumente" sind sowohl Blechtonnen, Metallschrott, Staubsauger u.ä., als auch klassische Mittel wie analoge Synthesizer, Bass und Gitarre. Ihre musikalischen Experimente sind asemantisch, repetativ und improvisatorisch - Rabenhirn schließen sowohl Noisecollagen als auch ruhigere improvisierte Klangstrukturen in ihre Darbietungen ein. Aufmerksamkeit in der Öffentlichkeit haben sie unter anderem durch ihre "Gegenlärm" Aktionen in Einkaufszentren, Parkplätzen und an der Frankfurter Startbahn-West hervorgerufen, die sie als aktiven Umgang mit ihrer "akustischen Umwelt" verstehen. Die Interpretation bleibt offen. Dem einschlägigen Publikum ist RABENHIRN durch Auftritte mit Bands wie Test Dept., Con-Dom u.a. sowie zahlreichen MC- und CD- Veröffentlichungen bekannt.
